The veritable Swiss Army knife of networking
Date: Thu, 7 Sep 2006 12:25:05 -0700
IBM has published an article on their developerWorks site about using UNIX
networking command-line tools that contains a brief but favourable
mention of curl (see
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/aix/library/au-speakingunix3.html?ca=dgr-lnxw07UnixUtilities4Net
). A quote:
The wget utility is invaluable for hands-off downloads, but it can't
upload files. Nor can it interoperate with secure FTP, telnet, and
a host of other (older and less-used) Internet protocols. For those
kinds of transfers, you must turn to the veritable Swiss Army knife of
networking: curl.
There's probably nothing new there for most of us here, but it might be good
to add to the page http://curl.haxx.se/docs/press.html
