Yes I have looked at the descriptions in
http://curl.storemypix.com/docs/sslcerts.html

I did the openssl s_client -connect statement and got the log file. The
question is what do you do with the information in the log file. I
tried to access the https server by having the --cacert point to the log
file and that did not work. I then did the extract and conversion of the
certificate from Internet explorer and appended the results from the
openssl x509 -inform DES -in yourdownloaded.crt -out outcert.pem -text
to the curl-ca-bundle.cert file and that also did not work.

I am just trying to see if there is a simple description of all the
steps needed to do an openssl -connect to extract the certificate and
use that to connect to the https server. We have an imbedded system with
limited resources and that is why I am trying to use the openssl
approach.

I have read through the cURL documentation and have performed the
openssl s_client -connect to a HTTPS server as specified in the Peer SSL
Certificate Verification write up. I received the certificate
information back the logfile. The question now is how do I get that
certificate in the cURL certificate bundle? I have just tried copying
the certificate over but that does not work. Is there a detailed
tutorial on how to handle certificates so a dummy like me can follow it
step by step?

Any assistance or directions on getting and initializing https
certificates would be greatly appreciated.
