Iam facing similar problem. Iam trying to generate a SSL enabled CURL library.
I tried following options, but still land up in getting output mentioned below,
./configure --disable-shared --with-gnutls --with-threads --prefix=$HOME/libcurl
./configure --prefix=/home/parthiv/libcurl --with-ssl=/vobs/sdm/thirdparty/openssl-0.9.7c/src_dynamic

Output:
