Yes, -P fixed my problem, thank you. I use cURL a lot, but I've never struck this problem before.
  As far as using an old version goes, I've been using cURL 7.9.7 for many years on a number of other routines without trouble. I have more than 50 cURL calls that fire up every hour on a schedule, downloading data, then uploading information derived from those data.
  I'm nervous about changing anything that might screw up my system. The "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" principle.
