A client has given me an ftp site with userid and password.
I can successfully access this site by several means: ftp from DOS or Linux, ACEftp from Win XP, IE or Firefox from Win XP, and Firefox from Linux.
BUT, I cannot connect using cURL, either from Win XP or from Linux.
What could possibly be wrong?
I've tried:
curl ftp://ftp.clientsite.com -u userid:password
and
curl ftp://userid:password@ftp.clientsite.com
but I get curl(7)

The userid has a period in it: christian.surname Is that a problem?

Any ideas/suggestions?
