Yes, please try that. Disabling ipv6 at build-time switches name resolving
function, while forcing ipv4 on the command line run-time only changes
arguments to the already picked function.

And as I said before, it did help my case to disable ipv6 so it would be
interesting to see if you get the same effect. I too have glibc 2.3.5...
