to resolve host through proxy?

I'm new to curl (command line version), please hepp me.
I'm behind proxy, so to resolve a url I type in command line
curl -x/ 62.76.115.40:3128 http://www.yahoo.com
Is it correct? I think I do some mistake typing the command, 'cos it says 'could not
resolve host'
