recompiling curl with ssl

Hi --

I have libcurl 7.9.2 on my redhat 7.2 server.

I need to have it compiled with SSL but am having trouble doing this.

I tried to download the latest rpm and install..but got an error about
dependencies.
I forced the install and then apache would not start. Well I am back to
square one now.

Is there a way to just recompile the version I have on the machine with
ssl ?
