Trying to get cURL to access a https link

Hi,

I have just joined this list so I apologise if I'm doing it all wrong.

I'm trying to get cURL to read a https link from within a UniVerse database and it kept
failing so I tried to get it to work from a "Command Prompt". I'm keep getting :-

The procedure entry point ENGINE-by_id could not be found in the dynamic link library libeay32.dll

First I found a newer libeay32 through Google but that didn't help. So I downloaded and applied
OpenSSL from http://curl.haxx.se/download.html. It asked me where to install and I replied
C:\WINDOWS\System32. After the installation I noticed that the libraries had NOT been updated and
my test (cURL) failed again.

I examined the OpenSSL folder and read the readme which talked about a "doc" folder that wasn't
there. I also noticed a couple of copies of the libraries in a couple of folders. Am I supposed
to copy these in the dllcache? I run WinXP Prof.

The UniVerse database supports a complex method of accessing https with security contexts &
certificates etc and I was expecting cURL to be easier. Boy was I wrong!

Could someone please instruct me on how to get cURL working?

Again I apologise if I have breached any protocols.

Rgds

Louis
