I'm curious why configure allow curl to end up
with a build error for a missing file, like this

In file included from ../include/curl/curl.h:1010,
                 from cookie.h:33,
                 from urldata.h:48,
                 from file.c:81:
../include/curl/multi.h:52: sys/select.h: No such file or directory

If I comment out the include of sys/select.h, curl builds fine.
 (Yes, I'm still using libc5 from 1998)
