Works!

[war_at_war curl-7.9.4]$ curl --version
curl 7.9.4 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) libcurl 7.9.4 (OpenSSL 0.9.6c)

My bad, it appears as I forgot to install the engine.
What other programs use the openssl-engine?
OpenSSH/SSH (Commercial)/links/wget never needed it, so I never
installed it.
