Thanks for reporting your problems, but...

AFAIK, there is no curl 7.2.2, but there's a curl 7.7.2 which I think you
have (as that is what other Mac OS X users have installed from scratch).

Just yesterday we released the *7th* public release (7.9.3) since the 7.7.2,
which we released in April last year.

While I can't find any specific entry in the CHANGES file that mentions this
problem exactly, I really must urge you to upgrade to a much newer version of
curl and see if you can repeat this problem. I belive this problem is

We have literally fixed hundreds of bugs and quirks since 7.7.2.
