this message has been reported to debian bts.

second problem is already solved in 7.8-3 debian packages, which already
are in debian testing, ready to be shipped in the nex release.

first problem is what made me post this bug report here, any idea?

btw: should i wait 7.9 to make new debian packages or am i better to
proceed with 7.8.1?

Hello Domenico,

The output of "curl-config --libs" is supposed to include *all*
switches necessary to link, and IMHO that includes -lcurl.

Furthermore, this command outputs "-lssl" without depending on the ssl
development package.
