-w != --proxy ?!?

some times ago i made a script in perl that uses curl. i wanted curl to use
my isp's proxy server (i chose to user the --proxy option).

when i upgraded to curl 7.3, this script broke saying:

[dom@grullo ~]$ curl --proxy proxy.libero.it:8080 http://www.slashdot.org
curl: option --proxy is ambiguous
curl: try 'curl --help' for more information

*** exited: 2
[dom_at_grullo ~]$

(you can see the exit code of curl)

the odd thing is that if i use the -x option curl behaves as expected.

i've been off line for some days and i still hadn't read old mail from curl
ml, so if that problem has been already covered pease ignore it, i'll find my
way in the mailbox.

anyway i'm also asking confirmation from any other willing to do this little test.
